Vijay resolves to travel to Bombay and look for a job there. But unfortunately he doesn't have enough change. By chance he observes a woman with her son and comes up with the idea of dressing up as a child in order to only have to pay half the fare.

At the counter, Vijay, posing as Munna, is bailed out by Raja Babu. He pretends to be Munna's uncle and gets hold of the ticket for Vijay. But Raja Babu only does this in his own interest, as he is a diamond smuggler and is currently on the run. He secretly hid the diamond in Vijay's pocket.

On the train, Raja Babu tries to get his diamond back and moves on Vijay so that he escapes into Rajnidevi's compartment. The young woman takes Vijay under protection and Vijay falls in love with the beauty.

reception

“A thorough Bollywood classic, 'Half Ticket' frames a ton of laughs, with Kishore and Madhubala, both, in their element, even as Pran, Shammi and Manorama, the latter as Rajnidevi's aunt, hold onto the comic pace. Salil Chowdhary's music too never slips out of the comic mood, as director Kalidas crafts a positively side splitting comedy, in the same league as a 'Padosan' or a 'Golmaal', full price funnies, all for a 'Half Ticket'. "

“A full Bollywood classic, Half Ticket has a lot of laughs on it, with Kishore and Madhubala both in their element, as well as Pran, Shammi and Manorama, the latter as Rajnidevi's aunt, keeping the comedic pace. Salil Chowdhary's music does not deviate from the funny mood either, as director Kalidas creates a positive diaphragmatic comedy that is in the same league as films like Padosan and Gol Maal (...) "
