Shanti Das

Shanti Das (* before 1955; † August 14, 2011 in Mumbai , Maharashtra ) was an Indian art director .

Career

He began his work for the film in the mid-1950s as a stage painter, a. a. for Shree 420 . From around 1960 to the 1990s he worked as a production designer for the Hindi film industry. From Dil Deke Dekho (1959) he worked for numerous films by Shammi Kapoor , who died on the same day , including his directorial debut Manoranjan (1974). He was several times a production designer (art director) of films by the directors Nasir Hussain and Shakti Samanta .

Shanti Das received the Filmfare Award for best production design for Phool Aur Patthar (1966), Talash (1969) and Hum Kisi Se Kum Nahin (1977) .
