Halleluja Paul (bourgeois Paul Kellner ; * 1950 in Nußdorf-Debant ) is an Austrian pastor and musician . He got his nickname and artist name because he used the word " Hallelujah " as a greeting.

Life

Kellner completed an apprenticeship as a grocery retailer, and at the age of 22 he took the job of a driver in an innsbruck railway company. Because he was diagnosed late with color vision deficiency, he retired from the driving service, which is why he began training as an educator in Pfaffenhofen at the age of 27 . After graduating, he first worked in the SOS Children's Village in Nussdorf, then at Lebenshilfe Austria in Innsbruck and finally in a newly opened children's home in Lienz .

Through a friend he came into contact with the Charismatic Movement , which he attended meetings. Here he gathered formative positive impressions. When he found out about the possibility of a university entrance qualification test, he had himself prepared in Horn in 1988/89 for the university entrance qualification, which he finally received. After successful studies he spent his pastoral year at the seminary in Zams that ordination to deacon he received in 1999 by Alois Kothgasser in Lienz, be Diakonatsjahr then he spent in Zirl . Initially, the ordination as a priest stood in the way of Kellner's earlier proximity to the Charismatic Movement, but he was ordained a priest by Kothgasser in 2001, whereupon he first worked as a pastor in Zirl, Schwaz , Amlach and finally in Lavant .
