Hambach is a district of Taunusstein in the Rheingau-Taunus-Kreis , Hesse .

Geographical location

The place is in the north of Taunusstein on the state road 3470 between Orlen and Niederlibbach.

history

The village was first mentioned as Hanbach in 1231, in the donation agreement for Count Robert von Nassau-Idstein to the Teutonic Order . Hambach himself seems to have been under the feudal sovereignty of the Bleidenstadt monastery at this time, similar to the surrounding towns .

Ten households are recorded for 1566 and 20 to 30 inhabitants for the period around 1700.

In 1966 Hambach was the state winner in the competition " Our village should be more beautiful ".

1 July 1972 Hambach was in the course of administrative reform in Hesse on a voluntary basis in the city Taunusstein incorporated . For Hambach, as for the other parts of the city, a local district with a local advisory board and local councilor was formed.
