Neuhof is a district of Taunusstein in the Rheingau-Taunus-Kreis , Hesse .

Geographical location

Neuhof is the fourth largest district and is located in the upper Aartal at the intersection of federal highways 417 (Hühnerstraße between Wiesbaden and Limburg an der Lahn ) and the B 275 ( Bad Nauheim - Usingen - Idstein - Taunusstein). The Platte settlement also belongs to the district. Neighboring places are Wehen , Orlen , Ehrenbach , Eschenhahn , Engenhahn and Wiesbaden.

From a natural point of view, Neuhof belongs to the "Western Hintertaunus" region. The topography shows terrain heights between 380 m above sea level (center of the village) and 505 m above sea ​​level (settlement of Platte) (information from the regional spatial plan for southern Hesse 1995).

history

Neuhof was first mentioned in 1167 and was an independent municipality in the Untertaunuskreis . On October 1, 1971, Neuhof voluntarily merged with five neighboring towns to form the city of Taunusstein as part of the regional reform in Hesse .
