Ehrenbach is a district of Idstein in the Hessian Rheingau-Taunus district .

Geographical location

Ehrenbach is located southwest of Idstein in a hollow of the Ehrenbach. The Limes forms the southern border of the district, which extends in the southwest to the Zugmantel fort on federal road 417 . The highest point is the 472 meter high wooded Scheid in the northwest of the district.

The district road K 707 runs through Ehrenbach as Zugmantelstrasse from the B 417 in the southwest to the Idstein junction of the federal motorway 3 in the northeast.

history

Ehrenbach was first mentioned in a document as Ernbach in 1371 . A wisdom of the Auroffer Grund from 1475 shows that Nassau-Idstein is the supreme lord in both Ehrenbach.

In the course of the regional reform in Hesse , the municipality of Ehrenbach voluntarily joined the city of Idstein on July 1, 1971 with two other municipalities. For the Ehrenbach district, as for all districts, a local district with a local advisory board and a local mayor was set up.
