Niederauroff is a district of Idstein in the Rheingau-Taunus district in southern Hesse .
Geographical location
The village is located west of Idstein in the Auroffer Grund . Highway 3274 runs through Niederauroff . Federal motorway 3 runs east of the town .
history
As Urefe inferior , the place was first mentioned in 1230/31 and belonged to the County of Nassau under Count Heinrich II . In 1939 there were 127 people living in the village.
In the course of the regional reform in Hesse , the municipality of Niederauroff voluntarily joined the city of Idstein on July 1, 1971 with two other municipalities. For the Niederauroff district, as for the other districts, a local district with a local advisory board and mayor was set up.
Culture and sights
- On the Holdersberg you can find the remains of Holdersberg Castle (at the Philippsruhe viewpoint), as well as the Nack ring wall .
- The cast iron fountain in "Brunnenstraße" was possibly made in the Michelbacher Hütte and is a listed building.
