Kröftel is a district of Idstein in the Rheingau-Taunus district in southern Hesse .

Geographical location

Kröftel is the easternmost district of Idstein in the eastern Hintertaunus . The Kröftelbach , a left eastern tributary of the Dattenbach , flows through the village and becomes the Schwarzbach near Eppstein . The southern boundary of the district is identical to the straight course of the Roman Limes .

The state road L 3023 leads through Kröftel from Heftrich to Oberems and connects the place with federal road 8 shortly before Oberems .

history

The existence of the place has been documented since 1226. That year Gottfried II. Von Eppstein pledged 30 Malter oats zu Cruftelo to Konrad von Hattstein .

In the course of the regional reform in Hesse , the municipality of Kröftel voluntarily joined the city of Idstein on December 31, 1971. For the district of Kröftel, as for all parts of the city, a local district with a local advisory board and mayor was set up.

On May 16, 1968, the municipality of Kröftel in the then Untertaunuskreis was awarded a coat of arms with the following blazon : Over green ground, on it a silver brook, in silver a red house with a golden door, accompanied on both sides by a green fir tree.
