Hamburg Records is a Hamburg- based artist development and marketing company with the areas of artist management , independent label , music publishing and merchandise production and distribution, which was founded by Pyogenesis singer Flo V. Schwarz in 2002.
history
Flo V. Schwarz had already worked in various companies in the music industry , such as Nuclear Blast , when he was able to get the publication rights back for his band Pyogenesis and founded the company Hamburg Records in order to be able to exploit said rights worldwide. But over the years the company evolved from being a pure record label.
During the 2000s, the business area expanded to include a management department, with the musical focus always on rock in general and punk rock or metal in particular. In 2004 an online shop and in 2006 the shirt agency merchandise printing service was added to the company based on Hamburg's Reeperbahn . In this area, the company developed into one of the largest suppliers in the German-speaking area and also works in this area for companies that fit the corporate philosophy of Hamburg Records, such as FC St. Pauli or Fritz-kola .
After several years of publishing collaborations with EMI and Warner , the company founded the music publisher Glorious Songs . The first signing was Itchy Poopzkid's Top40 chart success "Lights Out London".
Most of the bands under contract with Hamburg Records, especially those who sing in German, concentrate on the Central European market, while some artists also perform and release records worldwide.
