history
A bridge and a ship of the Hamilton Township are registered in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) (as of September 28, 2018), the schooner Weymouth and the Weymouth Road Bridge .

As of the 2000 census, there are 20,499 people, 7,148 households and 5,039 families in the city. The population density is 71.1 inhabitants per km². 71.45% of the population are White, 19.26% African American , 0.29% Native American , 3.29% Asian , 0.05% Pacific Islander , 3.33% Other Ethnicity, and 2.33% Mixed Race . 7.91% are Latinos of any race.
