Han Qide
Han Qide ( Chinese 韓啓德 ; * 1945 in Cixi , Ningbo , Zhejiang ) is a Chinese doctor and politician of the Society of September 3 , one of eight approved political parties outside the Communist Party of China , and has been Vice-Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress .
Life
After attending school, Han Qide studied medicine at Shanghai Medical College between 1962 and 1968 and then worked as a doctor. Between 1979 and 1982 he completed postgraduate studies at the University of Medical Sciences in Xi'an and was then a teacher at the Department of Pathophysiology of Beijing Medical College . He then completed another postgraduate degree at the medical faculty of Emory University in Atlanta ( Georgia ). After his return he was lecturer in pathophysiology at the Medical University of the capital from 1987 to 1988 .
He then became director of the Cardiovascular Medical Institute of Hospital No. 3 affiliated with this university in 1988, before he was vice-president of the postgraduate school of the medical university of the capital between 1995 and 2000. In 1997 he was accepted as a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences .
During this time, he became a member of the Standing Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference in 1998 and was a member of that body until 2003. Since 2000 he has been President of the Peking University Health Science Center. At the same time, he was vice-chairman of the Beijing Branch of the September 3 Society from 1997 to 2000 , and then vice-chairman of the Party's Central Committee from 2000 to 2002.
2002–2017, Han Qide was chairman of the Central Committee of the Society of September 3rd and thus chairman of this party. In addition, between 2002 and 2003 he was Vice-Chairman of the Chinese Association for Science and Technology and also Executive Vice-President of Peking University and its President of the Medical Faculty, the PKU Health Science Center.
Since 2003 he has been vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, a 150-member body of the National People's Congress that carries out the work of representing the people between plenary sessions.
