Hannes Sautter

Hannes Sautter (also Hans Sautter ; * 1931 in Wiesbaden ; † February 22, 2012 in Sankt Augustin ) was a German medical officer , most recently a general staff doctor of the Bundeswehr .

Life

After gaining his license to practice medicine, Sautter joined the German Air Force in 1962 . He was initially a troop doctor and aviation physician with Jagdgeschwader 72 , then chief of the Air Force Medical Squadron of the Air Force Group North in Münster and chief of the 1st Air Force Medical Training Company. After he had been department head for organization and training at the General Doctor of the Air Force and a consultant in the personnel department of the Federal Ministry of Defense , he became the command doctor of the Air Force Training Command in April 1975 . As Head of Division II 4 in the Inspection of the Medical and Health Services of the Bundeswehr (InSan), he dedicated himself to the training and especially the general staff training of medical officers. Afterwards sub-department head InSan II, in April 1985 Sautter became head of the medical office of the Bundeswehr . In 1991 he retired.

He promoted civil-military cooperation and was a member of the permanent conference on medical services in disaster, civil protection and the Bundeswehr of the German Medical Association . From 1985 to 2000 he was an honorary federal doctor for the Malteser Aid Service . From 1990 to 1994 he was editor-in-chief of the specialist journal Wehrmedizin und Wehrpharmazie .

He died at the age of 80.
