Hanns-Peter Baron Thyssen-Bornemissza von Kaszon (born July 1, 1941 in Dresden ) is a journalist, entrepreneur and art collector who is best known as an author of car books under the publication name Hanns-Peter Rosellen .

Life

After attending school in Düsseldorf - Lohausen and Waldbröl , training as a technical draftsman and attending a photography school in Hamburg , Hanns-Peter Thyssen-Bornemissza did a camera traineeship at Westdeutscher Rundfunk . His subsequent work as a camera assistant was followed by a journalistic traineeship at the Deutsche Auto-Zeitung, where he later became an editor. In 1975 he became editor of the daily newspaper Die Welt , in 1977 he became a travel editor for Welt am Sonntag , where he later took over the engine department. With this function he moved to the Illustrierte Bunte in 1979 and back to the Bonn daily Die Welt in 1981 . From 1982 to 1997 he was managing editor at Bunter . Hanns-Peter Thyssen-Bornemissza is married to Baroness Maria Magdalena Thyssen Bornemissza de Kaszon for the second time.

His passion for cars, initially only practiced as a hobby, led to an extensive collection of mostly rare cars. Many designers of “German post-war mobiles” were interviewed personally by him. This extensive research led to the first comprehensive, closed account of German small cars after 1945. It was published in 1977 by Bleicher and Motorbuch Verlag under the title “German small cars after 1945, loved, praised and unforgotten…” and has been revised and revised several times reissued. The material is also available online.

Other of his books are dedicated to cars from the brands BMW , Veritas , Glas , Ford and NSU .
