Life
Hans-Dieter Linsenmeier, son of the entrepreneur Josef Linsenmeier (1883–1949), studied mechanical engineering in Karlsruhe from the winter semester 1945/1946 . Due to the death of his father, he interrupted his studies and took over the management of the family-owned company, the Dörflingerschen Federnfabrik (DFO). The company produces hot-formed leaf springs for the automotive industry in Obrigheim . Under his leadership, the company experienced a considerable boom and was one of the well-known companies in the industry in Germany. By the time the company celebrated its 100th anniversary in 1972, it had regained a worldwide reputation. Due to the downturn in the world economy and the low-price competition from Southeast Asia , the company ran into difficulties in the 1980s and filed for bankruptcy in 1984 . The business was then continued for 10 years by another owner. From 1993 Linsenmeier was managing director of FFO Fahrzeugfedern GmbH in Sinsheim .
