Hans-Dieter Rösler

Hans-Dieter Rösler (born March 15, 1927 in Berlin ; † July 9, 2018 ) was a German psychologist and professor of clinical psychology.

Life

Hans-Dieter Rösler spent his childhood in Arensdorf and Falkenhagen , district of Lebus (Märkisches Oderland). From 1939 to 1944 he attended high school in Fürstenwalde / Spree and received the certificate of maturity in 1945. In 1943–1945 he was an anti-aircraft helper (with school lessons), a worker in the Reich Labor Service and a soldier in the Wehrmacht . In 1945 he started as a new teacher in Falkenhagen. In 1949 he passed the second teacher examination. This was followed by a degree in psychology until 1954 at the Humboldt University in Berlin . From 1954 to 1962 he worked as a scientific assistant, later a senior assistant at the Institute for Social Hygiene in Berlin-Lichtenberg. The doctorate to Dr. rer. nat. ( Anthropology ) took place at the Humboldt University in Berlin.

He received a teaching position for "Constitutional Biology of Age" at the Institute for Psychology at the Technical University of Dresden , where he received his habilitation in 1962. From 1963 to 1992 he was head of the Laboratory for Clinical and Developmental Psychology at the University of Rostock - Psychiatric Clinic. In 1964 he was appointed lecturer at the University of Rostock and in 1975 he was appointed full professor for clinical psychology at the Rostock Medical Faculty. From 1989 to 1990, after being replaced by Adolf Kossakowski, he headed the Society for Psychology of the GDR until it was dissolved. From 1992 to 1994 he represented the chair for developmental psychology at the University of Giessen . Hans-Dieter Rösler was retired in 1994.
