Hans-Georg Lietz
Hans-Georg Lietz (born August 26, 1928 in Stolp , Pomerania , † May 11, 1988 in Rostock ) was a German writer and industrial clerk . Lietz was the author of novels , crime stories , radio plays and screenplays during the GDR era .
Life
Lietz was the son of a laborer. He briefly attended the business school in Stolp, but was then drafted into military service. After 1945 he worked as a messenger, warehouse and farm worker and finally started an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk. After attending the workers and farmers faculty , he studied art history. During this time he wrote his first short stories, short stories, reports and glosses for various magazines. After visiting the "Johannes R. Becher" literary institute in Leipzig, he took up various activities that can be found in his literary works. He worked as a deep-sea fisherman, tram conductor, buyer, department manager, driver and artist. Since 1967 Lietz lived as a freelance writer in Rostock and Roggow near Rerik . In that year he also joined the German Writers 'Association (from 1973 Writers' Association of the GDR). In 1972 Lietz was chairman of the German Writers' Association in the Rostock district . Lietz published almost all of his novels with VEB Hinstorff Verlag . In 1979 he received the Rostock District Culture Prize. Lietz was chairman of the district editing office for writing workers in the Rostock district and headed the circle of writing workers at the Neptun shipyard in Rostock. Lietz spent the last years of his life in Ticino near Rostock.
