Hans-Georg Steltzer

Hans-Georg Steltzer (born April 30, 1913 in Braunschweig , † April 12, 1987 in Königswinter ) was a German diplomat and writer .

Life

He was born as the son of Theodor Steltzer .

In the Wehrmacht , Hans-Georg Steltzer achieved the rank of major by 1945 . In 1948 he graduated from law with the first state examination. Hans-Georg Steltzer joined the Social Democratic Party of Germany for the Spiegel affair . His brother Werner Steltzer headed the information center of the Senate of Berlin from 1961 to 1966 when Willy Brandt was mayor there. In 1968/69, Hans-Georg Steltzer headed the Foreign Office of the Federal Press Office, and 1970–1972 Head of Culture Department in the Foreign Office. In 1978 Hans-Georg Steltzer was retired and, as an Africa expert in Zambia, was able to find out that the South West African People's Organization received a delegation from Wolfgang Roth .
