Hans-Georg Wormit (born June 13, 1912 in Bögen , Bartenstein district , East Prussia ; † August 13, 1992 in Berlin ) was a German lawyer and chief executive of the German district assembly and president of the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation .

Life

Wormit studied law and economics in Heidelberg and Königsberg (Prussia) , in 1930 he became a member of the Germania Königsberg fraternity . He was a member of the NSDAP from the late 1930s . After passing the major state legal examination and entering an administrative career, Wormit was employed as a government trainee and assessor in numerous positions in the administration of the various Prussian provinces.

At the beginning of the Second World War he was a consultant for economic and cultural issues in Kiel . Drafted as a first lieutenant in the reserve, he was taken prisoner by the British in 1945 . However, he was able to resume his work in Kiel in the summer of the same year, switched to the Schleswig-Holstein state service and worked in various government and administrative offices. At the beginning of 1951 he was State Secretary in the Ministry of National Education and from February 1, 1951 to October 12, 1956, State Secretary in the Ministry of the Interior .

In 1956 he took over the management of the German District Assembly. On December 14, 1961, he was appointed the first curator of the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation and served as its president from 1967 to 1977.
