Athletic career

Creydt belonged to the East Berlin soccer club of the Dynamo sports association since 1963, when it still existed as the soccer division of the Dynamo Berlin sports club . Before that he played in the youth team of SG Dynamo Hohenschönhausen . He moved up to the top division squad of the later record champions in the early 1970s via the BFC second representation .

The chemical engineer was able to book assignments in seven seasons of the East German elite class. However, only in 1973/74 (15 games) and 1974/75 (17) he was called up in more than half of the 26 season encounters. He played a total of 61 games in the league. The best placement achieved the East Berliners in Creydts affiliation to the 1st team in the seasons 1971/72 and 1975/76 , when they were each runner-up.

The 1.83-meter-tall goalkeeper made his only appearance in the European Cup in the first round of the 1976/77 UEFA Cup . After his long- standing rival for a regular place, Reinhard Schwerdtner , was in the goal in the 3-0 first leg defeat against the Soviet representative Shakhtar Donetsk , Creydt was allowed to move between the posts of the BFC in the second leg. The 1-1 draw meant the end for the Weinroten. In the summer of 1978, the then 30-year-old goalkeeper ended his competitive sports career.
