Hans-Heinrich Jarchow (born July 13, 1955 in Plau am See ; † August 24, 2020 in Rostock ) was a Mecklenburg engineer and politician. 2002-2006 he sat in the state parliament of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

Life

Jarchow was the only one in his class not to go to youth consecration , but to confirmation . After becoming an engineer for agricultural technology in Berlin in 1979 , he became technical director of the agricultural production cooperative in Gnevsdorf . After the turning point and peaceful revolution in the GDR , he was the first freely elected (honorary) mayor of his village from 1990 to 1994. From 1994 to 2001 he was the full-time mayor of Plau am See. For the SPD Mecklenburg-Vorpommern he won in the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern state election, 2002 in the state election district Parchim I a direct mandate in the Landtag of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern . In the state elections in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in 2006 , he could not keep it. From 2009 to 2017 he worked at the Academy for Politics, Economy and Culture in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in Schwerin . There he headed the division of the democratic initiative “WIR. Success needs diversity ”. With his wife Karin geb. Blankenburger Jarchow has two daughters with one granddaughter.

From 1994 to 2011 Jarchow was synodal in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Mecklenburg . From 1997 to 2002 he was a member of the church leadership of the regional church. Since 1994 he has been visiting the Evangelical Lutheran Church in the Republic of Kazakhstan , the partner church of the (former) Evangelical Lutheran Regional Church of Mecklenburg, every year . From 1998 to 2015 Jarchow held Low German morning prayers in announcement broadcasts on the North German Broadcasting Corporation . In 2008 he founded the Friends of the Gnevsdorf Church , of which he was chairman until 2020.

Jarchow, like his wife, was an active member of the Plauer trombone choir and sang in the Gnevsdorfer Singkreis. From 2010 until his death he led the hunting horn group "Retzower Heide".
