Hans-Heinz Daweke (born August 24, 1926 in Aachen ; † February 27, 1996 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German double bass player .

Live and act

Hans-Heinz Daweke studied double bass with Heinz Detering in Cologne and has played in the orchestra since 1945. From 1950 to 1952 he worked as a solo double bass player in Braunschweig and from 1952 to 1991 also as a solo double bass player in the Frankfurt Opera and Museum Orchestra a . a. under Georg Solti , Christoph von Dohnányi , Michael Gielen and Gary Bertini . In 1974 and 1975 he was the solo double bass player of the Bayreuth Festival Orchestra .

Daweke also worked in various chamber music ensembles and was also engaged for major concert performances, world premieres and recordings across the region, for example in collaboration with the Mainz Bach Choir , the Mainz Bach Orchestra, the Frankfurt Bach Orchestra and the Collegium Instrumentale Alois Kottmann . Among other things, he was the soloist of the world premiere of the Concerto for Double Bass and String Orchestra op. 73 by Victor Bruns (1984) with the orchestra of the Frankfurt Philharmonic Society in collaboration with Helmut Steinbach . In 1966 he was appointed chamber musician .
