Hans-Hermann Sprado

Hans-Hermann "Hannes" Sprado (born July 3, 1956 in Bassum ; † July 24, 2014 ) was a German journalist and author . Until his death he was editor-in-chief and publisher of PM magazine .

Life

Sprado first completed a traineeship at Bremen Weser-Kurier before he worked as an editor for Bunte and later as chief reporter for Bild .

In 1994 he switched to the Gruner + Jahr publishing house . There he made a significant contribution to the knowledge magazine PM, of which he was editor-in-chief (from 1994, 2009–2014) and publisher (from 2001, 2012–2014). Under his leadership, pseudoscientific to esoteric content took up an ever wider space in the magazine, from which the editors later distanced themselves. Sprado also developed offshoots such as PM Biography and PM History . In the meantime he acted as editor-in-chief of Marie Claire .

From 2005 Sprado also wrote various novels and non-fiction books.

He lived with his family in Neubruchhausen near Bremen .
