Hans-Jürgen Hess

Hans-Jürgen Heß (born June 12, 1935 in Berlin ; † October 29, 2010 there ) was a Berlin SPD politician.

education and profession

Hans-Jürgen Hess made in 1954 in the Askanischer high school his high school . After training as a postal inspector, he worked in the upscale postal service . In an evening course from 1960 he took political science at the Free University , which he graduated in 1964 with a diploma in political science. In the following year Heß became full-time chairman of the Deutsche Postgewerkschaft Berlin. From July 1974 he worked for 25 years as the head of the administration of the German Bundestag in the Berlin Reichstag building . In 1999, Hess retired and took over the management of the Central Association of Engineering Associations (ZBI) on a voluntary basis until his death.

Hans-Jürgen Heß was married to the district mayor of Berlin-Wedding Erika Heß (1934–1986). They had two children.

politics

Hans-Jürgen Heß joined the SPD in 1958. In 1963 he was in the Borough Assembly Zehlendorf selected. From 1969 to 1971 he was the district chairman of the SPD Zehlendorf. In the 1971 election he was elected for the first time as a member of the Berlin House of Representatives, which he remained until June 1981. Heß was again a member of the parliament from 1985 to 1991.
