Hans-Michael Schulze

Hans-Michael Schulze (* 1967 in Havelberg ) is a German historian and publicist . His research focuses on historical sites of the SED dictatorship in Berlin .

Life

Hans-Michael Schulze grew up in the Altmark . After graduating from high school , he studied art studies and classical archeology in Leipzig and at the TU Berlin from 1989 to 1998 . He finished his studies with a Magister Artium (MA). He worked as a city guide and trained them. At the end of the 1990s, Schulze was commissioned by the Pankow District Office to research the history of the settlement around the Mayakowskiring , which served as a refuge for well-known SED officials until 1990 . From 2003 to 2006 he was chairman of the board of the Förderverein Schloss Hohenschönhausen e. V. He then worked on the exhibition “Die Pankower rulers. The Majakowskiring and Schönhausen Palace after 1945 ”, a joint project of the Center for Contemporary History and the Pankow Museum Association, and as a speaker at the Berliner Unterwelten Association . As a scientific advisor, he worked on several rbb documentaries . Schulze has been a speaker at the DDR Museum since 2009 .
