Hans-Peter Boer

Hans-Peter Boer (born January 22, 1949 in Nottuln ) is a German crime novelist and local historian .

Life

Boer was born in Nottuln in 1949, the son of a baker. After graduating from high school in 1969 at the Paulinum in Münster, he studied at the Münster University of Education until 1972 and from 1976–1979 postgraduate studies in German and history for the teaching post of secondary level I at Wilhelms University . In the following years he worked as a teacher at the secondary school in Gescher , at the school for the learning disabled in Coesfeld , at the Anna-Katharina-Emmerick secondary school in Coesfeld, at the Ratsgymnasium Münster and finally at the Joseph-Haydn-Gymnasium in Senden . From 1982 to 1985 Boer took over the management of the Mühlenhof open-air museum in Münster . From 2005 to 2014 he was head of culture in the Münster district government . He is also chairman of the Coesfeld district home association.

author

Boer's hobby includes researching the culture, history and folklore of the Münsterland and his home village of Nottuln. Boer has written numerous specialist articles and independent works on this subject. Since 2006 he has been the author of a crime series with Commissioner Klaus Kattenstroht .
