Andreas Lechtape

Andreas Lechtape (* 1956 ) is a German photographer . He has specialized primarily in art and architectural photography and has contributed to numerous books as a picture author .

Andreas Lechtape studied communication design / photo design at the Dortmund University of Applied Sciences , where Pan Walther was one of his teachers. During this time his interest in architectural photography and art documentation was aroused, in which he has since specialized. In his work for art guides and illustrated books, he was able to combine both aspects in an ideal way to create a number of significant church buildings .

Freelance work in Münster since 1986 , and since the mid-1990s he has been regularly involved as a picture author for books on this city and the Münsterland , most of which are published by Aschendorff Verlag . According to his own statement, he attaches great importance to very personal perspectives. An example of this is Unknown Münsterland. A portrait (1998), created in collaboration with the author Hans-Peter Boer . Together with Boer and Stefan Buske, Lechtape also developed a biographical illustrated book about the life and work of the master builder Johann Conrad Schlaun , which was published in 1995.

In addition, he has worked extensively on art guides for the Regensburg publishing house Schnell und Steiner , for which he also works as a publishing representative in the "Art Guide" section. He worked several times with the author Clemens Kosch.

Lechtape regularly takes photos for institutions and companies in Westphalia, including various district and city administrations, including the diocese of Münster , Westfalen AG , the Westphalia-Lippe Regional Association and the Westphalian Heimatbund . In addition, Lechtape has worked for clients as diverse as the Architekturmuseum Frankfurt , the Kunsthalle Karlsruhe , the Germanisches Nationalmuseum Nürnberg , the Rheinische Archivamt and the Klosterkammer Hannover .
