Hans Aschhoff (born September 22, 1899 in Münster , † September 3, 1973 ibid) was a German politician and NSDAP district leader.

Life

Origin and family

Hans Aschhoff was born as the son of the medical sergeant Georg Aschhoff. On February 17, 1925, he married Helene Vahrenholt. The marriage had two children.

Professional background

Aschhoff attended the high school in Münster and obtained the secondary school leaving certificate . While still at school he became a soldier in 1916 and then worked as a free corps fighter . In 1920 he returned to Münster, founded a steel helmet group and became an employee of the directorate of Wehrkreis VI (branch of the Reich Treasury Ministry in Münster, exploitation of the army). A year later he was made a civil servant in the administration of the police school in Münster and after two years he was dismissed from civil service for illegal political activities. After temporary unemployment, he got a job in 1925 at the State Insurance Institute in Münster as a civil servant candidate and then became a secretary of an extraordinary civil servant ( state dietary ).

From 1923 to 1924 he was in the NSDAP local group in Munich and rejoined the local group in Münster in 1930, where he was head of propaganda. In 1923 he joined the SS . In 1932 and 1933 he was a candidate for the Prussian state parliament and for the Reichstag . From October 1, 1932 to the summer of 1933, he was NSDAP district leader in Münster-Stadt. He was a member of the Westphalian provincial council and deputy member of the Westphalian provincial committee in 1933. Initially in office from April 18, 1933, he became a paid city councilor in Münster on November 26, 1934 as head of transport and culture. He remained in this office - interrupted by military service - until 1945.

He became a prisoner of war and was detained in the Eselheide internment camp from the end of August to April 2, 1947 . The denazification process ended with several decisions. Initially classified several times in Category III b 2 and finally in Category IV, he was downgraded to City Inspector.
