Hans Fink

Hans Fink , pseudonym: Peter Schmidt or Herbert Star (born May 2, 1942 in Timișoara , Kingdom of Romania ) is a Romanian-German journalist and publicist from the ethnic group of the Banat Swabians .

Life

Hans Fink attended the practice school of the German teacher training institute in Josefstadt , then the Nikolaus-Lenau-Lyzeum and then studied (1959–1964) German and Romanian at the Western University of Timisoara . The topic of his diploma thesis was peculiarities of the Temeswarer German colloquial language .

In 1965 he moved to Bucharest and worked as an editor for the German-language newspaper Neuer Weg until 1991 . His areas of expertise were education and teaching. The regular monitoring of the country's stage of the essay contest of the German Olympics inspired him to collect texts for an anthology in 1989 Kriterion publishing house published My house, my land, my sky. Essays by students in grades V-XII . The collection, which was edited by the German teacher Ute Rill from Schässburg , contained 150 texts and was unique in Romania.

He has lived in Germany with his family since 1991.

From 2005 to 2007, Hans Fink and Hans Gehl collected texts for an anthology about the life of Germans in Romania after the Second World War , which appeared in 2014 and comprises 70 texts.
