Hans G. Nutzinger (born May 25, 1945 in Hauingen ) is a German economist and university professor .

career

From 1964 Hans G. Nutzinger studied economics , mathematics and economic history at the University of Heidelberg . There he obtained a degree in economics in the spring of 1968 , and received his doctorate in 1973. rer. pole. and completed his habilitation in economics in 1976. From 1968 to 1973 he worked as a research assistant at the Alfred Weber Institute in Heidelberg and from 1973 to 1974 at the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Dortmund . From 1974 to 1976 he was a fellow of the German Research Foundation .

After substituting professorships in Bielefeld and Heidelberg, he was appointed Professor of Theory of Public and Private Enterprises at the University of Kassel (then Kassel University) in the autumn of 1978 . He was visiting professor at the Universities of Vienna and Hamburg as well as a fellow at the Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin 1992/93 and at the Max-Weber-Kolleg at the University of Erfurt from 2000 to 2003. From 1993 to 1995 he was chairman of the “Economics and Ethics” committee of the Verein für Socialpolitik , from 1999 to 2001 chairman of the committee “Economic Systems and Institutional Economics”.

Since 1979 (until 2007 and again since 2016) he has been a corresponding member of the research facility of the Evangelical Study Community Heidelberg (FEST), and from 2007 to 2016 he was a member of the FEST Board of Trustees. Together with Anja Stöbener, he received first prize in 2006 from the Research Institute for Philosophy in Hanover for their joint essay on the question “Does value education need religion?”. From 1983 to 2009 he was also a freelancer at the Evangelical Academy Hofgeismar in the areas of economics and ethics. Nutzinger is co-editor of the ten-volume Alfred Weber- Gesamtausgabe (AWG), which was published from 1997 to 2003, as well as editor or co-editor of the four-volume Lujo Brentano works published from 2003 to 2008 . Together with Michael S. Aßländer and Dieter Birnbacher , he edited a five-volume edition of John Stuart Mill's economic writings in German, which was published between 2014 and 2016. He retired on September 30, 2010 .

With his wife Christel geb. Bretzer has two children and now lives near Heidelberg. He is the son of the Hauinger pastor and local writer Richard Nutzinger , who u. a. wrote the "Hauger (Hauinger) Lied"; Hans G. Nutzinger composed the melody for this.

Nutzinger's main research areas are economics and ethics, ecological economics / environmental economics , industrial relations / participation, basic questions of economic policy and the history of economic thought. He has published numerous books, anthologies and essays in these fields. Nutzinger is co-editor or member of the advisory board of several economic and social science yearbooks.
