Hans Horn (politician)
Hans Joachim Horn (born August 18, 1933 in Waldbröl , North Rhine-Westphalia ; † November 9, 2008 there ) was a German CDU politician . He was from May 29, 1980 to May 29, 1985 and from May 31, 1990 to June 1, 2000 a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia .
Life
Horn, son of the preacher Ewald Horn, graduated from high school in 1954. He then studied history , English and Protestant theology at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn . He successfully completed his studies in 1960 with the first state examination for teaching at grammar schools, followed by the second state examination in 1962. Horn received his doctorate in 1968 from Max Braubach with a thesis on political currents in the Bonn region in the late 19th century. From 1969 to 1990 he taught history and Protestant religion, first in Gummersbach - Derschlag , then at the Waldbröler Hollenberg high school.
Horn had been a member of the CDU since 1958. From 1961 to 1968 he held the district chairmanship of the Junge Union in the Oberbergischer Kreis , from 1973 he was district chairman of the CDU of the Oberbergischer Kreis. Horn had been a member of the district council of the Oberbergischer Kreis since 1967, where he had been chairman of the CDU parliamentary group since 1975. Horn was also a city council member in Waldbröl. In 1989 Hans Horn took over the chairmanship of the Evangelical Working Group of the CDU Rhineland from Horst Waffenschmidt . With the local elections in 2004 Horn withdrew from local politics.
From 1985 to 2008 Horn was a member of the church leadership of the Evangelical Church in the Rhineland .
