Hans Jakob Haller

Hans Jakob Haller (born September 28, 1906 in Gießen ; † October 21, 1991 in Kirchheimbolanden ) was a German church musician and choir director . He worked at the Schleswig Cathedral and the Ulm Minster, among others .

In 1925 Haller began studying church music with Karl Straube in Leipzig . After completing his studies, he first went to Prague as an organist . From 1934 he worked in Kolberg and from 1939 as an organist at the Schleswig Cathedral. As a successor to Fritz Hayn , he was church music director at the Ulm Minster from 1955 and also took over the direction of the Ulm Oratorio Choir . After his retirement in 1971, Haller moved to the Palatinate . He was the son of the historian Johannes Haller (1865–1947) .
