Hans Jakob von Breidbach (* 1552 ; † August 27, 1588 ) was a knight and landlord whose family sat at Bürresheim Castle . The family was later also referred to as von Breitbach-Bürresheim.

Life

He was married to Gertrud Schall von Bell . In the Church of St. John Baptist of the local church Sankt Johann in Mayen-Koblenz ( Rhineland-Palatinate ) is a Epitaph for Hans Jakob von Breidbach. The knight is shown in armor, with a helmet with a plume between his legs . The inscription reads: ANNO 1588 THE 27TH AUGUSTY IS CHRISTIAN IN GOT AND REASONABLY DIVERSE FROM THIS WORLD THE NOBLE AND HONORED VESTER HANS JACOB FROM BRITBACH TO BORETZHEIM HIS AGE WAS IN THE 36TH YEAR OF THE SELENOUS GOT GRACE IN ETERNITY, AMEN . The ancestral coats of arms on the side pilasters indicate the families: Breitbach , Lahnstein , Schöneck , Haegt von Leudsdorf, Dalberg , Kronenburg , Gemmingen and Helmstatt .
