Hans Josef Becher (born June 12, 1927 in Bonn , † December 2, 1993 in Wallenhorst ) was a German actor, dramaturge and acting teacher.

Life

He attended drama school in Munich and studied with Ruth von Zerboni , where he met Hans Clarin . Later he was assistant director to Fritz Kortner . Among other things, he took on the role of Gadish in Kortner's production of Henry IV (drama) by William Shakespeare with Klaus Kinski as Prince Heinrich. In the sixties he worked as a teacher in Munich; Tilo Prückner was one of his students . After the time at the Munich Schauspielhaus, engagements in Osnabrück , Düsseldorf and Hof as a dramaturge and actor followed.

His passion, however, was and remained teaching. He went to schools and brought the children closer to the theater. In the Naturbühne Trebgast he worked on demanding pieces with laypeople such as Götz von Berlichingen and Kabale und Liebe . A theatrical man with body and soul, shortly before his health deteriorated due to a serious cancer illness in Trebgast, he staged the comedy Arsenic and Lace Cap . He died in Wallenhorst, where he was also buried.
