Hans Kazzer (born November 5, 1940 in Breslau ) is a German sculptor who lives in Munich and Lungkwitz near Kreischa. He is a diverse painter, wood sculptor, metal sculptor and restorer. His son of the same name (* 1966) is also a sculptor and architect.

Life

With the approaching end of the Second World War , the Kazzer family fled to Kreischa in 1945 . Here Hans Kazzer trained as a sculptor at the Schwabe company from 1955 to 1958. In the DEFA studio for animated films in Dresden , he then worked as a puppet designer until 1962. He studied sculpture at the Leipzig University of Graphics and Book Art from 1962–1965. Hans Kazzer then became a production assistant and was in charge of model making at the Central Theater Workshops in Berlin until 1971. From 1972 he became a freelancer at the Dresden Institute for Monument Preservation (today's State Office for Monument Preservation Saxony ). From 1976 he also took part in the annual stone carving symposia in Pirna-Cotta.

At the end of the 1970s the family moved to the Federal Republic of Germany .

In 1981 Hans Kazzer got a job as a sculptor and restorer at the Bavarian Palace Administration in Munich .

Hans Kazzer is married and has a son of the same name who followed in his father's footsteps. Hans Kazzer jun. (* 1966) also became a sculptor and architect. He runs a wood carving workshop and since 1997, together with Martin Aichner, an architecture office in Munich. The junior has been a research assistant at the Faculty of Architecture, Institute for Design and Structural Engineering / Timber Construction at the Technical University of Munich since 2002.
