Hans Ludwig von der Groeben

Hans Ludwig von der Groeben (born February 22, 1615 in Lichterfelde ; † August 6, 1669 in Cölln ad Spree ) was a real secret councilor from Brandenburg .

Life

Origin and family

Hans Ludwig von der Groeben was a member of the Brandenburg noble family von der Groeben . His parents were the heir to Lichterfelde, Dabergotz , Meseberg , Teschendorf , Baumgarten , Prenden and Rauschendorf Otto von der Groeben (1581–1656) and Maria, born von Rochow from the House of Plessow († after 1688). His brother Friedrich Otto von der Groeben (1619–1697) was a Brandenburg colonel and head of the regiment , a sister Anna Maria von der Groeben (1616–1674) was married to the Brandenburg colonel and commander of Spandau Johann Georg von Ribbeck (1601–1666).

Career

Groeben had been a deputy of the knighthood and director of the Oberbarnim circle since 1642 . In 1651 he became cathedral dean in the Brandenburg Abbey and landscape director in the Middle Mark region . On August 18, 1658 he was promoted to the Real Privy Council and at the same time brought the office of hereditary hunter of the Electorate of Brandenburg back to his house.

Groeben was the heir to Meseberg, Lichterfelde, Rauschendorf, Baumgarten, Dabergotz and Schönermark . He was buried on November 9th, probably in the St. Petri Church in Berlin .
