Teschendorf is a district of the community of Löwenberger Land in the north of Brandenburg .
geography
Teschendorf is located at the natural transition from the Granseer Platte and the Rüthnicker Heide to the Zehdenick-Spandauer Havelniederung . The federal highway 96 leads through the local situation . The district includes the Wackerberge and Blumenhof expansion residential spaces, as well as the Kleine Plötzsee . The Dreetzsee to the north-east of the village already belongs to Neulöwenberg. Teschendorf borders in the north on the districts Linde , Löwenberg and Neulöwenberg , in the east on the district Grüneberg , in the south on the district Nassenheide and the town of Kremmen and in the south and west on the district Neuendorf .
history
Teschendorf was first mentioned in 1271 as Teskendorp . Since it was first mentioned, Teschendorf was part of the state of Löwenberg until 1460 under the suzerainty of the bishops of Brandenburg . At first it was owned by von Kerkow , then it belonged to various pawnbrokers . In 1374 there was an episcopal castle in Teschendorf. In 1459 it was a parish village . From 1460 until the abolition of the manorial rule in 1872, Teschendorf belonged to the Löwenberg rule and Hoppenrade estate, with the temporary exception of individual farms .
In 1800 there was a Vorwerk in Teschendorf. In 1817 the place came from the Glien-Löwenberg district of the Mark Brandenburg to the district of Ruppin in the new province of Brandenburg . In 1881 Teschendorf had the form of a broad street village . In 1900 Teschendorf was a rural community with an area of 1749 hectares. The Blumenhof residential area belonged to the community district . In 1925 there was another residential area called Wackerberge . In 1946, around 425 hectares of land were divided up in the Soviet occupation zone as part of the land reform . An agricultural production cooperative was founded in 1953.
Since the administrative reform of 1952 Teschendorf belonged to the circle Oranienburg the district Potsdam . From 1992 to 1997 Teschendorf was administered by the Löwenberg office and in 1993 became part of the new Oberhavel district . On December 31, 1997, the Löwenberg office was dissolved and Teschendorf merged with nine other communities to form the new community of Löwenberger Land. Since then, Teschendorf has formed a district.

Culture and sights
The Teschendorf Church is a hall church from the 13th century in the early Gothic style. The building made of worked field stones has a wide church tower as well as granite portals and a baroque pulpit altar . The tower structure dates from 1601, the octagonal pointed helmet from 1682. Between Gothic windows there are ogival twin panels.
The ruins of the medieval Schrabsdorf Castle are located on the northwestern bank of the Dreetzsee .
