Hans Neuburg

Hans Neuburg (* 20th March 1904 in Grulich ; † 24. June 1983 in Zurich ) was a in to Austria-Hungary belonging Moravia born Swiss typesetter and typographer .

Life

Neuburg grew up in Zurich, where he did a commercial and technical apprenticeship at Orell Füssli . From 1932 he was head of advertising at Jean Haecky Import AG in Basel , and from 1936 he had his own industrial graphics studio in Zurich. He was the editor of various graphic magazines such as Camera , Neue Grafik as well as an art critic for the Tages-Anzeiger , the Neue Zürcher Zeitung , de Tat and designed large exhibitions in Prague , Zurich , Brussels , Bern and Lausanne . In 1963 he was Vice President of the International Association of Graphics Icograda . Together with Richard Paul Lohse , Carlo Vivarelli and Josef Müller-Brockmann, Neuburg founded the constructivist-oriented New Swiss Graphic .
