Hans Neuner (cook)

Hans Neuner (* in Leutasch ) is an Austrian cook and restaurateur .

Life

Neuner began training as a chef at the age of 15 in the gourmet restaurant of the Steigenberger Hotel Alpenkönig. In 1994 he moved to the Swiss Hotel Carlton in St. Moritz . Then, after a short stopover in London , he was Chef de Partie at The Fairmont Southampton Princess in the Bahamas , and later in the same position on the ship Crystal Symphony . From 1999 to 2004 he worked at the Hotel Adlon in Berlin at the side of his mentor Karlheinz Hauser , from 2004 he was head chef at Seven Seas in the Hotel Süllberg in Hamburg .

Since 2007 he has been working as head chef at the Ocean restaurant in Porches, Portugal . The restaurant was awarded its first star by the Michelin Guide in 2009 , and Neuner was named Portugal's Chef of the Year. In November 2011, the Ocean received its second Michelin star.

TV appearances

In the second episode of the second season of the VOX cooking show Kitchen Impossible , Neuner was seen as an opponent of Tim Mälzer and won against him. In October 2017, he was a guest judge on the third episode of season five, The Taste . In April 2018 he was seen in an episode of Grill die Profi as the coach of the prominent participants, also in an episode of Knife Fight Club .
