Hans Pongratz

Hans Pongratz (born October 26, 1945 ) is a German medical officer a. D. He was the Deputy General Doctor of the Air Force and previously Head of Department III of the Aviation Medical Institute of the Air Force . He is the father of Hans Pongratz, Vice President for IT Systems & Services (CIO) at the Technical University of Munich .

Life

Pongratz studied mechanical engineering and medicine in Munich. In 1976 he was with a study on transplantation systems at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich doctorate .

Pongratz joined the German Armed Forces and was employed in a wide variety of functions, but always as an aviation doctor. He worked scientifically in the field of aviation and space medicine at the Aviation Medicine Institute of the Air Force in Fürstenfeldbruck . Hans Pongratz was an aviation doctor in flying associations and alternately headed the ergonomics and flight physiology departments . He represented the institute externally in terms of research, science and teaching. From 2002 until his retirement in 2006 he was deputy doctor general of the Luftwaffe in Siegburg .

Pongratz was a long-standing member of the board, including President of the German Society for Aerospace Medicine (DGLRM) until 2004 , and was also a member of the Senate of the German Society for Aerospace (DGLR). In addition, until recently he was active in various international bodies for aerospace medicine, including as a liaison between the European Society of Aerospace Medicine (ESAM) and the Aerospace Medical Association (AsMA).

He was a lecturer at the medical faculty of the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) and at the faculty of mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). In the course of this activity, TUM awarded him the academic title of honorary professor in 2010 . Until 2015 he held the aerospace medicine lecture at TUM LRT. He has been a member of the Catholic student union KDStV Aenania Munich in the CV since 1965 and has been their Philistine Senior since 2017. From 2008 to 2011 he was a board member of the Katholische Korporationen München eV (KKM).
