Hans Rüdiger Vogel

Hans Rüdiger Vogel (born May 15, 1935 in Worms ) is a German medic and former pharmaceutical functionary .

Live and act

Vogel studied medicine in Freiburg and Mainz from 1954 to 1960. In 1963 he received his license to practice medicine . He then worked as an assistant at the Physiological Institute of the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz . He also did his doctorate and habilitation at the University of Mainz . At the State University Institute of Physical Education in Mainz, he was appointed professor.

In 1967 and 1968 Vogel was the managing doctor of the Rhineland-Palatinate Medical Association and a member of various committees of the German Medical Association . From 1968 to 1975 he headed the health department of the Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry of Social Affairs under Heiner Geißler , from 1972 as ministerial director . From 1975 to 1982 Vogel was managing director of the Medical and Pharmaceutical Study Society and the Paul Martini Foundation . In 1982 Vogel became managing director and in 1994 chairman of the Federal Association of the Pharmaceutical Industry (BPI). Vogel retired in 2000, but founded a management consultancy.

Vogel has been a member of the CDU since 1970. He published on health policy , preventive medicine , epidemiology and health economics . Vogel was committed to the International Society for Health Economics and the German-Romanian Academy .
