Hans Trummer

Hans Trummer (born May 17, 1947 in Bruck an der Mur , Styria , † August 20, 2007 in Vienna ) was an Austrian writer . In addition to his work as a writer, he also made some film documentaries for ORF and 3sat .

Life

After secondary school, Hans Trummer studied German and art history at the University of Graz. In 1968 he first published manuscripts in the literary magazine . From 1970 he lived as a freelance writer in Vienna. He was a founding member of the Graz Authors' Assembly and the edition literature producers . He also taught at Ohio State University in the USA.

He spent longer stays abroad in southern Europe (Spain, Greece ...) and North Africa (Morocco, Tunisia). From 1990 to 2001 he lived in Ziguinchor , Senegal in West Africa.

Hans Trummer was awarded the Theodor Körner Prize in 1976 and the City of Graz Prize for Literature in 2001.

Hans Trummer died on August 20, 2007.
