Hans Winterstein (architect)

Hans Winterstein (born June 24, 1864 in Höxter ; † March 6, 1946 in Berlin ) was a German architect , university professor and municipal building officer .

Winterstein studied architecture at the Technical University of Charlottenburg and also received his doctorate there.

He worked as a freelance architect in Berlin, urban planning inspector, later as municipal building officer and from 1920 as town planning officer and senior building officer in the city of Charlottenburg, which was independent until 1920, and taught as an associate professor at the Technical University of Charlottenburg. He also taught at the Realschule in Charlottenburg and at the Herderschule (Reformrealgymnasium).

In 1950, in today's district of Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf , Wintersteinstrasse was named after him.

  • 1923: Theater box office kiosk in Berlin-Charlottenburg, Rankestrasse (in front of house No. 1; under monument protection)
  • 1927–1929: Westend school with director's house in Berlin-Charlottenburg, Westendallee 45/46 (under monument protection)
