Hansjürgen Doss

Hansjürgen Volker Doss (born August 9, 1936 in Münster ) is a German architect and politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

After attending elementary school and secondary school, Doss first completed a commercial training in Mainz . He then completed an internship as a carpenter in London . He studied interior design at the Mainz University of Applied Sciences , passed the state examination to become a qualified designer in 1959 and then worked for a year in an architecture office in Dayton (Ohio) . After attending the State University of Fine Arts in Frankfurt am Main , from which he graduated as BDA architect , he worked from 1963 to 1965 for the office community for architecture and structural engineering in Marburg . He had been working as a freelance architect in Mainz since 1965 and in 1993 became managing partner of Doss & Over Architekten und Ingenieure GmbH.

Political party

Doss joined the CDU in 1965 and was elected to the state executive committee of the CDU Rhineland-Palatinate . He was state chairman of the Mittelstand- und Wirtschaftsvereinigung Rheinland-Pfalz and in 1996/97 Federal Chairman of the medium-sized and economic association of the CDU / CSU .

MP

Doss was a council member of the city of Mainz from 1979 to 1981. From January to August 1981 he was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament . He was a member of the German Bundestag from July 20, 1981, when he replaced Elmar Pieroth , who had left the Bundestag , until 2002. He was always drawn into parliament via the state list of the CDU Rhineland-Palatinate . From 1990 to 2002 he was chairman of the parliamentary group for SMEs in the Union parliamentary group and was a member of the parliamentary group's executive committee.
