Hapoʿel Holon ( Hebrew הַפּוֹעֵל חוֹלוֹן ha-Pōʿel Chōlōn ) is an Israeli basketball club from Cholon . The club was Israeli champions in 2008 and cup winners in 2009.
history
The association was founded in 1947. He was a founding member of the Ligat ha-ʿAl and was runner-up in the first two seasons of this league.
In 2008, Hapoʿel Holon won the championship for the first time. In a very close final, the team around Moran Roth and Amit Tamir as well as the Americans Chester Simmons and PJ Tucker beat the series champions Maccabi Tel Aviv 73:72.
European competitions
After being represented in the European Cup Winners' Cup at the beginning of the 1990s and failing in the qualifying round against national competitor Hapoel Galil Elyon , they also took part twice in the Korać Cup , where they were also eliminated in the qualifying and preliminary round.
