Elton Brown (born September 9, 1983 in Newport News , Virginia ) is a former American basketball player who became German champion in 2010 with the Brose Baskets from Bamberg .

Career

The 2.06 m tall and 113 kg heavy Brown, who was trained between 2001 and 2005 with the Virginia Cavaliers at the University of Virginia, began his professional career in the 2005/2006 season with the Greek first division club Makedonikos Kozani. There, the Brown used on the position of the center quickly found himself and achieved both 13.3 points and 10.5 rebounds per game, which also meant the best rebound in the league. After a short stay in Spain, where he only played one game for Llanera Menorca, he returned to the USA and was active for one season in the NBA D-League for the Colorado 14ers, attracting the attention of NBA clubs do. By performing well, he was appointed to the All-Star Game of the D-League 2007, in which he scored 20 points and 10 rebounds. Brown was then active during the 2007 summer break in the Baloncesto Superior Nacional and in the NBA Summer League for the Denver Nuggets and signed a contract with the Los Angeles Lakers in September 2007 , which was however dissolved before the start of the season in November. Brown returned to Europe for the 2007/2008 season and worked in Israel for Hapoel Holon, where he won his first European title in the form of the Israeli championship. Through good performances at Holon, other top teams became aware of him and so Brown signed a contract with Maccabi Tel Aviv, from which he was released three weeks later and was only used once. At the beginning of February 2009 Brown then moved to the German first division club Brose Baskets Bamberg , where he performed well and extended his contract for a year after the 2008/09 season.

For the 2010/2011 season he returned to Israel and signed a contract with Elitzur Netanja. After a season in the Türkiye Basketbol Ligi 2011/12 for the Trabzonspor basketball team , which, however, had to relegate at the end of the season, he played in the 2012/13 season for KK Red Star from Belgrade , who won the national cup competition against serial champions KK Partizan Belgrade succeeded. In the final games of the ABA League and the national championship, however, Partizan had to give up again. At the beginning of the 2013/14 season, Brown moved to France in the LNB Pro A to Paris-Levallois Basket. Until the end of his time as a professional basketball player, he stayed in France except for a short detour to Puerto Rico.
