Harald Naumann
Harald Naumann (born January 3, 1923 in Dresden ) is a former German politician ( CDU ). From 1967 to 1990 he was a member of the People's Chamber of the GDR .
Life
Naumann, son of a railroad worker, attended elementary school, business school and finance school. In 1943 he was drafted as an unscheduled financial inspector and for military service in the air intelligence service of the Wehrmacht .
After 1945 again in the customs service, most recently as a councilor and head of the main customs office. In 1946 he joined the Free German Trade Union Federation (FDGB) and was BGL chairman from 1946 to 1949 . In 1949 he became a member of the Christian Democratic Union of Germany (CDU). From 1950 to 1954 he worked as a senior clerk in the tax administration. From 1950 to 1952 he studied finance at the German Administrative Academy and from 1952 to 1954 industrial economics at the Berlin School of Economics, graduating with a degree in economics. In October 1966 he received his doctorate degree at the Berlin School of Economics with a thesis on "Overcoming the fragmentation of production in semi-public companies". rer. oec. PhD. From 1954 he worked full-time in the CDU in the field of economic policy, most recently as head of the economic policy department in the CDU main board. From May 1966 to September 1977 he acted as secretary of the CDU main board. From October 1972 to 1989 he was a member of the presidium of the CDU main board. From September 1977 to 1989 he was Deputy Minister for Trade and Supply in the GDR. His successor as deputy minister and member of the CDU presidium was Jürgen Klingbeil (* 1947), who until then was deputy mayor of the then East Berlin district of Prenzlauer Berg and also district councilor for trade and supply.
From 1967 to March 1990 he was a member of the CDU parliamentary group of the People's Chamber of the GDR, from 1967 to 1981 a member of the Committee for Industry, Construction and Transport, from 1981 to 1986 of the Committee for Budget and Finance and from March 1989 to 1990 of the Committee on Trade and Supply. In 1989/90 he was deputy chairman of the working group “Medium-Sized Economy” of the CDU and at times a representative of the CDU at the central round table in Berlin .
