Harald Schliemann
Harald Schliemann (born May 21, 1944 in Neustadt in Holstein ) is a German lawyer and politician ( CDU ).
Career
After studying law in Hamburg , he passed the second state examination in 1973 and initially worked as a lawyer , from 1975 as a judge . Via the Lower Saxony regional labor court (presiding judge from 1983) he came to the federal labor court in Kassel in 1987 and in Erfurt from 1999 . Since 1998 he has been the presiding judge of the 4th Senate, which is mainly responsible for collective bargaining law.
On July 8, 2004 he became Minister of Justice of the Free State of Thuringia as the successor to Karl Heinz Gasser , who took over the interior department after the state elections. As part of a cabinet reshuffle announced on April 23, 2008, Schliemann resigned from the cabinet on May 8, 2008 due to heart disease; Marion Walsmann was his successor .
Until November 6, 2015, he was chairman of the DMSG , a Hanover-based association for people with MS. Since June 1, 2011, he has been chairman of the board of trustees of the German Foundation for Patient Protection , a nationwide patient protection organization for seriously ill, highly care-dependent and dying people based in Dortmund.
