Ralph Liebler

Ralph Liebler (born September 14, 1901 in Leipzig , † November 22, 1953 in Stralsund ) was a German functionary of the GDR bloc party LDPD . He was Minister of Justice of the State of Thuringia and a member of the People's Chamber of the GDR .

Life

The son of a commercial employee attended the secondary school in Aue and the secondary school of the Francke Foundation in Halle . After graduating from high school, he studied law and economics in Munich, Tübingen and Leipzig and was awarded a Dr. jur. PhD. From 1929 to 1944 he worked as a lawyer in Zittau. In 1929 he became a member of the German Democratic Party (DDP) and was a city councilor in Zittau from 1930 to 1933. During the time of National Socialism , Liebler was persecuted by the National Socialists for political reasons and because of his Jewish origin and imprisoned in 1944.

In 1945/46 he was appointed chairman of the court in Zittau. In 1945 he became a member of the LDPD and the Society for German-Soviet Friendship (DSF). From 1946 he was again a city councilor in Zittau. From 1946 to 1950 he was a member of parliament and from 1948 to 1950 he was vice-president of the Saxon state parliament . From October 24, 1947 to 1949, he was the first deputy state chairman of the LDPD Saxony and from 1948 to 1953 he was a member of the extended central board of the LDPD. In 1948/49 he was a member of the German People's Council , from 1949 a member of the People's Chamber and chairman of the LDPD parliamentary group. From February 25, 1950 to 1952, he was Minister of Justice of the State of Thuringia in the Eggerath I cabinet . From 1950 to 1952 he was deputy chairman of DSF Thuringia and from 1952 chairman of the DSF district board in Erfurt. From August 1952 to November 1953 he was deputy chairman of the council of the Erfurt district .

Liebler died after a serious illness at the age of 52 in Stralsund.
