history
Harbern II was created by cultivating bog areas after the construction of the Hunte-Ems Canal . On November 12, 1948, Jan Oeltjenbruns and Harm Behrends planted 3 oaks at the intersection at the coastal canal . This was done on behalf of the Oldenburg Settlement Office. The following day the founding of the youngest town in the Wardenburg community was celebrated. At the same time, the Saarländer Weg, which has a slag layer, was inaugurated. Among the settlers were many expellees from the east who settled here after World War II.
