Hariwan ( Nepali हरिवन Hariwan ) is a city ( municipality ) in the eastern Terai of Nepal in the Sarlahi district .

The city was created in 2014 by amalgamating the Village Development Committees Atrauli , Dhurkauli , Hariyon and Sasapur . The urban area covers 86.11 km².

Residents

At the 2011 census, the VDCs that made up the city of Hariwan had 42,784 inhabitants (20,821 of them male) in 8369 households.
